  • Our service is completely bespoke, we use your own fabric
To do this we heat bond a 100% cotton backing to your fabric to add the rigidity required for a roller blind before overlocking the edges and completing the blind making process by hand.
You can choose a range of lining options including both daylight and blackout finishes.

Please check that with any printed fabric the design is square. Although this is not an issue when used for curtains it can be very obvious when manufacturing straight Roller blinds.

All fabrics we receive will be assumed to be checked and acceptable, no further inspections will take place.

DO NOT SEND YOUR FABRIC TO OUR CROSBY L23 OFFICE

Please send your fabric direct to the workroom and enclose a copy of your order or direct from your fabric supplier quoting your order number as a reference.
The Fabric is to be sent on the roll, and not folded, this prevents any creases during the final lamination.
The address and instructions will be emailed to you after you order.

    How much fabric

The fabric supplied must be a minimum of 100mm wider than the blind size and 500mm longer than the ordered drop

If the blind is joined or needs pattern matching please send 1 extra full pattern repeat for each join/width plus the standard 100 and 500mm above.

If the size ordered is wider than the fabric width supplied then this will be joined prior to lamination with a central panel and two equal joins.

Do not send the fabric to our office here in Crosby, our factory address will follow in your order confirmation.

    Laminated Backings:

Roller Blind backings are all FR and available in white, ivory, or blackout.

Most fabrics can be laminated to make a Roller Blind.
During lamination, the fabric is put through a special machine where it is bonded to the backing at a heat of 120C.  How a fabric will react during or after this process cannot be guaranteed and in the rare case that a fabric distorts CrosbyBlinds cannot be held responsible and a refund of the fabric is not covered.
All visible edges are over-locked where necessary and all bottom pockets will be stitched.

    Joins

If the size ordered is wider than the fabric width then two pieces will be required for joining, a central panel and two side panels. Please note that any blind where both dimensions exceed 1800mm will also have a horizontal join regardless of the fabric size. All joins will be stitched and some loss of pattern will occur at the joins.

Measuring Guide

Measuring for inside a Recess

First ensure that the recess your blind is going into is not obstructed in any way so the blind can hang freely. Look out for protruding tiles, pipes, skirting boards etc.

Measure at the top, middle and bottom of the window recess and note down the smallest measurements to the nearest millimetre, this is the recess size.

We will make your blind smaller to fit into the recess.

There is no need for you to make any adjustments we do this in production this is called recess size

Your blind will arrive slightly smaller than the recess size, it will then hang freely within the recess at the correct size.

If you want to make your own allowances order as ‘exact’ which is explained below.

Measuring for outside a recess or Exact

Decide how much you want to overlap the blind on all sides - we recommend this should be at least 50mm (2 inches) each side in most instances, or the exact size you want the blind to be, if fitting inside a recess

Carefully measure the at the top, middle and bottom for the width and the left, right and middle for the drop

Remember on most blinds the fabric will be less than the overall width of the blind ordered. You should allow for this when measuring outside a recess.

We will make your blind to your exact sizes. The blind in its brackets/headrail/cassette (widest point) will be supplied exactly to the size that has been ordered. this is called exact size Subject to the normal manufactures working +/- tolerances

Whether measuring for a recess or exact please remember the fabric will always be narrower than the overall blind size to allow for components such as side controls and brackets.
This varies depending on the product, Roller blinds for example have a fabric width 30-34mmn less than the overall blind size.
Contact us if you require clarification regarding your chosen product.

Measuring for Bay Window

Determine the depth of the blinds you are mounting and use this for the width of your cardboard: Contact us for Blind depths.

Cut two pieces of cardboard (depth determined from 1 above) wide by 30cm (12") long.
Important: If spacer blocks or extension brackets will be used for extra clearance on outside mounts, add the amount of extra clearance to the width dimension of the cardboard before measuring.

Place the strips in the left angle first, and bring them together until the front corners of the cardboard meet. Mark points "A" and "B".

Repeat this step for the right side angle, marking points "C" and "D".

Measure between points "B" and "C" to obtain the width measurement of the center blind.

Measure from point "A" outward to the desired width to obtain the width measurement of the left blind.

Measure from point "D" outward to the desired width to obtain the width measurement of the right blind.

Deduct about 5mm from each of your measurements to allow for clearance, and order Exact
